Anyone know what's going on in the derelict green area which runs between the Malahide rd and Churchwell Avenue. There is some type of digger in there?

Apparently they are building a pedestrian walkway from Malahide Road into Belmayne. Not too sure about that, with all the little scumbags around at the moment, just going to give them another point of access to the estate.

Great, that's all we need, more ways into the estate to let all those kids up to no good in. I can't beleive the amount of teenagers in the area just walking about in groups since that new entrance beside the chipper opened. Last weekend I saw about 10 of them walking up toward the information centre to the playground up there with beer cans and about an hour later I was driving back and see a few beer cans just thrown on the ground in the area they were walking in.

As well as that, about 3 weeks ago it was about 5.45am on a Sunday morning and my house alarm when off while I was asleep, we my partner turned it off he saw 3 young lads with hoodies and beer cans in their hands walking up the road. I don't know if they just kicked a stone that hit off my window and set alarm off or if they were messing at the door or windows to set the alarm off but it wasn't nice whatever cause the alarm to go off.

I thought there was secruity in the area, this is just terrible. don't know what's going to happen next.

I doubt they are clearing a huge field to put a path in, the link road is a bit up and should come in off the Malahide road by Maccarris downthrough priory hall and into clongriffin, Something is a brewing with those diggers

Someone in the estate told me that is what they were doing maybe they heard wrong! I totally agree about more ways into the estate for these awful youths. They are wreaking havoc in the place lately. There was a group of about 20 of them hanging around causing mayhem in the little playground last week. The mothers over there actually had to call the Garda as they were so abusive and were throwing stones and climbing on top of the roof of the climbing frame and jumping on the swings which are bound to get broken. A garda car came up but they all ran off when they saw it coming. I am just getting sick to death of them. Something will have to be done about it as we are beginning to feel terrroised in our own homes. I have a little girl and used to love bringing her over to the playground but am avoiding it these days cos you just dont know who will be over there and what behaviour will be going on. That playground is for little kids and something will have to be done about the gangs of kids over the age of 10 hanging out in there.

Jesus Im around Belmayne Park and never here a thing suppose we all need to look out for each others property, if it comes to it we might need to get a group walking around at night , I have a mate who lives in Clare Village over by Tesco and they had to do something to run these thugs out!

Im not around much myself during the day time but Im really annoyed to hear that a bunch of older kids are intimidating people out of the playground. We have to put a stop to this. If they are local, then why are they being let out unsupervised and if they are not local they need to be told they are not to be hanging around here. Perhaps some of the Dads out there would let them know?

I am talking about the playground actually in Belmayne. The gangs that are coming in are generally not from Belmayne, they are usually from about age 12 up, so far too big and old to be hanging around the kiddies playground. It is only recently, basically since the start of the school summer holidays that this issue is arising. I think they are coming in from Clare Hall and places around like that. I reported it to the management company, they said they will ask the gardai to do more drives through the area on a more frequent basis, but the way i see it at the moment, it is nearly like you would need round the clock security of some sort. I think when you have young kids and are out and about in the estate that these problems are very apparent. If you are out at work all day and not walking around the estate that much, i guess you might not really notice this stuff. As we are paying mgmt fees, in my mind, the estate is really a private development and therefore unless you are visiting people or whatever, i dont think they should be in here. I dont know what the answer is but the estate is becoming quite an unpleasant place to live which is so unfortunate as up to lately, i really liked living here.

Just a bit of topic but if there is groups of scum bags walking around can people make sure the side black gates are locked the amount of them that are not locked when you walk through the estate, especially my block as the couple of scum that rent here refuse to lock it and ripped the sign down the management put up!!

They just come in through the Clare Hall entrance now that it is open. the chipper being there now and all attracts them too I think. that is terrible that some tenants refuce to keep the gates locked and I cant believe they ripped down the sign (well actually I can).
We live in a communal block where they gates are never locked and left wide open, there is no keypad or fob system and never was. We are really vulnerable and we have had awful trouble as well in recent weeks with kids who do live within the estate hanging around in the communal space at the back of our block, they broke one of the small gates to enter the green off the hinges, the bricks from walls and the bin compound have been broken away as they are climbing and banging into them. they broke trees there, it goes on and on. they bang the big gates against the walls for no reason whatsoever............and these are kids who live in the development. A number of the residents in the block are trying to get the large gates mechanised at both ends. It is a battle as you can imagine! but between the thugs coming in from outside causing trouble in the estate in general and some of the kids within the estate causing trouble, it is turning into a nightmare. I dont know what the answer is but I am beginning to wish I had never bought in this estate which is an awful way to feel about your home.

I think for the fees we are paying we should be getting a better all round service. I also agree the opening of the chipper was not a good idea. I like my house and the area but sometimes feel agrieved that problems continue to persist when we pay fees that can only rise in time. I used to be against the idea of security to be honest but now I am starting to rethink my opinion. I know from bringing my nieces and nephews (that live in belmayne) to the play ground that there a lot of people from outside that bring their kids in, I have met a fair few from Northern Cross apartments. We will never be able to do anything about this. I live in the almost direlect :) shannon homes section (I am the only house in the entire block) and kids are forever getting in the back and banging gates and messing around the bin areas. Sooner or later some of these properties are going to be damaged, particularly when the dark evenings come in. Or worse still something will happen to one of the kids, what will that do to the insurance and fees? There is no one monitoring these houses.
