Cooker Hood Extractor Fan
Hi,
Our extractor fan stopped working in our kitchen. It happened around the same time the last remaining bulb of 2 blew.
Does anybody know if having both bulbs in the hood stop the fan from working or is there a fuse in the extractor fan that may have blown with the last bulb blowing.
I've checked the trip switch board and everything is fine there.

Re: Cooker Hood Extractor Fan
ive had the same problem since ive moved in to my house there seems to be a fault with these extractors ive fitted at least 20 bulbs in the last 2 years if im lucky id get about 2 months out of 2 bulbs and ever since the last batch the fan wont work at all now. and as you can imagine shannon homes dont want anything to do with the problem so youd be better off changing the whole thing.

Re: Cooker Hood Extractor Fan
Hi thegasman,
I got to the bottom of my problem.
The Extractor Fan/Hood is plugged into a socket rather than being wired directly to the house electrical circuit.
I found the socket and plug on the wall inside the narrow metal enclosure above the hood.
It turned out that the fuse in the plug must have blown. I replaced this and now the fan is working again.
Hopefully you have the same issue and might be able to get your fan going again.
With regards to the lights, the bulbs do tend to got pretty quick.
