Kids in the Development and on the Waste Ground

Postby juless51 on Wed Jul 14, 2010 9:03 pm

Hi just wondering has anyone else noticed large groups of teenagers roaming the estate and that they have now built a "treehouse" on the waste ground alongside Belmayne Avenue. Have reported it to the management company and am waiting on a response. Kinda worried that one of them is going to is going to injure themselves or damage one of the cars parked along the hoarding. Does anyone know if there is anything we can do to stop them getting into the waste land? Have also asked David in Keenan to try get the developers to clear it up as they seem to be using it as a dumping ground and there has been no building on it since I moved in about 2 years ago! If anyone else has noticed it or is bothered by it can they please get onto Keenan to see if they can sort it?

Its easy to get into that waste ground there is no hoarding on the main road down by the school the wall has been crashed into so you can just walk up the field!!!
Id say thats the direction they are coming from down by Donaghmede!!
All that waste ground is in some state you wanna check out behind the hoarding up a bit near the chipper there is the first floor of an apartment block ,cabins , an old crane everything!!!

I hope one the little sh*ts injures themselves falling out of it might teach them a lesson!!

Have a look here and the field (s) behind Belmayne avenue they run over to the hole in the wall road there is just an old stone wall there that is falling apart so thats an easy access point.

Kinda worried about who they might say is responsible for it if one of them does injure themselves!!!! Does the management company know about the crashed wall? Any chance of them getting it fixed? Its annoying if nothing else. Can hear them in their hut through the balcony door and bedroom window! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

They may be coming in that way but I have seen them climbing over the hoarding up by the chipper! They are actually using the new "Beware Children" plant pot sign thing as a step up over it! Its only a matter of time before one of them snots themselves on the way over!

If they are not going to be building on the wasteland for the foreseeable future, i really think they need to tidy it up and make it more secure from these kids getting into it. I agree with fasteddie, i couldnt care less if one of them injures or hurts themselves while in there. Anyway, surely they are tresspassing as it is not public land????

does this land not belong to dcc? i thought it did, another thing which needs clarifying. what if someone does injure themself, does the management company have to cough up insurance if land is owned by one of the developers?

I've seen them climb over onto that 'Beware Children' pot plant also. If we could get that moved it might prevent them from being able to climb over the hoarding and they might be more likely to stay on the other side of it. Maybe if enough of us ring the police and get them to patrol the area they might get fed up and find somewhere else to hang around?

Has anyone else noticed the hole in the hoarding by the management suite / library building? Can people please get on to the management company to try get this sorted? Issues with the kids are just getting worse and now they actually have a pathway to the field!

yes i totaly agree there is complete lack of response by the property management company and us residents need to band together to get some response by either the developers/builders or property management company i mean we did'nt pay good money to the builders to have them only half ars* finish the estate or pay our management fees to only get the run around with political answers! waffling on 4ages but not actualy answering our questions or demands!!!!

Excuse me but..are you actively reporting this to the managing agents? They need the details and times. I'm not defending them but they aren't reading this forum and they have requested that antisocial (including destructive) behavious be reported directly to them.

yes belwoman I am practically on the phone and emailing them daily to report this! this forum is actually the last place that I would choose to announce this issue, however as the umpteen calls and emails seem to be falling on deaf ears I thought this might be the best place to ask for some back-up from some of the residents to get the mangement company to actually get off their A@*% and do something!

might not be a bad idea for everyone on this forum to submit what is happening on keenan's contact page
http://www.kpm.ie/contact.html

The page itself is abit flimsey as your message to the them has to be on one continuous line, as the textbox you type in doesnt really work as its supposed to, but its alot quicker than calling them.

Hi All,
If you are unable to contact David (or a back up contact person he may have provided), let the Residents Committee know by emailing belmaynebalgriffin@gmail.com with the full details and issue.
